2017 - A year in Review

The new year is approaching steadily and I am here to report the progress we have made. Throughout the course of December, quite a few major events occurred. During the beginning of this month, our mechanical engineers finished our ROV frame and we are hopefully going to get the ROV in the pool sometime soon, but before we can do that we still have a few things to do. We need to add the propellers on top of our motors and we also need to add our ballast tanks.

Looking on the other side of the job, the electrical engineers have still a long way to go. The electrical engineers need to continue working on the control box. Last week the electrical engineers experienced a delay and they found that it was due to the fact that there were a few wires that were soldered incorrectly but the problems were fixed and the entire team is back on track. During our final meeting of the year, the Ranger team that represented our school last year came to visit and check our progress so far. During the days leading up to this meeting, a student came to our coach, wanting to learn about arduino boards. Our head coach told her to attend the M.A.T.E meeting and there she got a lesson. Moving on to the other requirements of the competition. We have made some great progress in the tech doc, we have finished 7 pages out of 10, although our cover slide needs a lot of work. We have begun the Safety Report and will continue working as the year continues.
