MariNeRDS: Who are we?

We are MariNeRDS. We are middle school students that love to learn about technology. We are part of our school's SeaPerch and M.A.T.E team. Both of these teams deal with underwater robotics. We study at Harrington Middle School, and our team is the HMS SeaBots. The MariNeRDS have a variety of skills. Some of us are mechanical engineers (but we refer to them as MechEs). We design the frame of the robot, keeping principles of buoyancy and stability in mind. We use a 3-D modeling service called Tinkercad to design our frames for our robot. Some of us are electrical engineers. These SeaBots work on building the control box, as well as soldering and being able to understand electrical principles. We will be judged by weight, length, presenting skills, and how well we know the robots. The SeaPerch competition for our region is in 2018, as is our M.A.T.E competition. Wish us luck!
